How do I take a tour: 

Book and pay online through our website.

What is a Private Tour:

Private tours are when one group books the entire cart in a single booking. This requires a minimum of five seats to be booked.

How do I book a tour less than 12 hours before start time: 

For tours starting in less than 12 hours, please call (757-642-1349) or email us at info@exploretidewater.com. We will be back in touch as soon as we can to book your tour.

Is there an age limit for cart tours:

We limit tours to children 8 and up, and children must be accompanied by an adult and not require a car seat.

How many guests per tour:

Seven seats are available for each tour; there is a minimum of two guests required for a tour to proceed.

Should I bring anything:

Clothing for the season/weather; sunscreen and sunglasses; definitely water on hot days; maybe a camera.

Restrooms:

Please visit a restroom before the tour as there are no scheduled stops. If someone must stop, we might have to pick them up later in the tour.

Tell us about the cart:

This is a street legal, electric cart with full safety features and a top speed of 20-25 miles per hour. We only drive on roads with a speed limit of 35 miles per hour or less. There is a roof to provide sun cover and a roll down canopy for cold or wet weather, if requested.

Where does the tour start:

Downtown tours will begin at the parking loop in front of Nauticus in downtown. For groups booking all seats of a tour (a private tour), we can accommodate start/end locations to a hotel or most other spots in the downtown area.

Do guides accept tips:

Tips are greatly appreciated if we’ve earned them.

Weather:

We run rain or shine, hot or cold, though heavy wind or rain will result in a cancellation. If the weather is unsafe your guide will contact you before the tour to discuss, and any cancelled tour will result in a full refund and our apologies.

What is the cancellation policy:

We appreciate as much notice as possible and also try to be as flexible as possible, however cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will not receive a refund.

Wheelchair access:

If a private tour is booked (the whole cart) by one party, and no more than five guests are taking the tour, then a wheelchair can be placed on the back of the cart. This would require advance notice.

Is smoking allowed:

We apologize, but it is a no smoking tour.
